MALKINI

Malkini is a hacienda dedicated to the rearing of alpacas. With time, it has acquired such fame that many alpaca farmers from around the world come to learn and to take specialised courses about these animals.

Located in the middle of the mountains, in the altiplano (high plateau) area, this spectacular hacienda is not just an ideal place for those travelers interested in alpacas, but also for those who wish to escape from the beaten track, and who want to have a totally different and authentic experience during their visit to Peru.

There are various activities to enjoy in the surrounding area. The visitor can explore the hacienda by 4x4, going to the furthest corners to see the alpacas graze in a semi-wild state, ride Andean ponies to the beautiful small lake in the middle of the mountains or walk up into their heights to appreciate the spectacular scenery of the surrounding mountain range. Whichever activity the guests choose, they can always return to the warmth and comfort of the hacienda, where they will find all the commodities and will be well attended to.

Malkini is situated just a few kilometres away from Lake Titicaca, and so is a perfect retreat outside of the traditional trip, without having to take a lot of extra time.

KIMIARATO ESTATE

Kimiarato is a coffee estate situated a few kilometers from the city of Quillabamba, considered to be one of the entrance doors from the Andes of Cusco to the Amazon jungle.

The 6000 hectares of surface area of this exclusive estate allow the visitor to have as much space as necessary to walk, horseride or cycle through the intricate trails which cross the fields in different directions. Whichever activity the traveler chooses, the possibilities are unlimited.

The accommodation is in simple but comfortable bungalows, and it is the perfect place to end our bicycle expedition through this jungle region.
