Tanit Trails - Cusco, Peru

Private Service

A fun day out for any one looking for an alternative adventure to a beautiful section of the Urubamba river. Rafting is a fun sport, suitable for pretty much any one- no experience is needed to take part in the great day out.

The section we run is usually the class III-IV Chuquicahuana section, above Cusco where the river is cleaner and more fun. It takes one and a half hours to drive to the river. On arrival we will inflate the rafts and following a full safety briefing and instruction in the art of White-water rafting, we set off for approx two hours of fun white-water rafting. The river starts gently with time to practice the manoeuvres required, then builds up with more fun rapids through a beautiful canyon where we will hopefully see torrents ducks and views of the surrounding peaks. After approximately two hours of rafting, we reach our take out point and enjoy a full picnic lunch before returning to Cusco mid to late afternoon.

Included

  • Pick-up and drop-off in private transport from the hotel of your choice in Cusco
  • All rafting equipment including state-of-the-art rafts, wetsuits, wetsuit boots, Americas Cup’s life jackets, splash jackets, helmets, first aid kit, and dry box for cameras
  • Snacks on the river, English speaking swift water rescue and wilderness first aid trained river guides
  • Safety kayaker
  • Picnic lunch.

Not Included

  • Travel insurance

We recommend you to bring

  • Towel, shorts/ Swimming costume
  • T-shirt or thermal top, sun hat

Please note

This rafting section runs from April through to November. After that it becomes a much more serious class V river which we only offer to experienced rafters. At all times Tanit Trails reserves the right to offer an alternative section if we consider the conditions are too dangerous to safely run this section. We can also run a section known as Cusipata which is generally safer and easier and is ideal for family groups. The youngest age we will take is ten years old, there is no older limit (for families with younger children, we can offer other alternatives)
